Water Savings Worth Singing About

In a scene straight from a fairytale, Ventana Lakes, a 50 acre retirement community in Peoria, Arizona was struggling with high water bills – until ValleyCrest stepped in and turned their story around.

Richard Restuccia, ValleyCrest’s Director of Water Management Solutions, arranged a partnership with Horizon Distributors, Toro and the ValleyCrest Phoenix branch to provide controllers, WeatherTRAK satellite signal and installation at no cost to the community. The upgrade to smart irrigation started paying dividends immediately and, seeing the success of the test section, Ventana Lakes voted to change out the rest of the controllers on the property.

Now instead of struggling with high bills, the community is seeing significant water savings with each new smart controller installed. (Surely residents sing cheerful songs with the woodland creatures now.)  And their savings are inspiring other Phoenix-area communities to adopt smart irrigation measures, as well.

Landscape Management magazine heard about the success of the ValleyCrest/Horizon/Toro partnership and ran the full article online here.

Would savings like this make you a believer, or do you still have hang-ups about converting to smart irrigation controllers?

Fl la la la la…la la la la…just warming up the pipes! What a great story to share (and as usual beautifully written). When you believe in what your product can do it makes it easier to give away a free sample. I am glad Ventana Lakes saw the value and found the savings.

Great warmup, Alan, and thanks for the comment! Hopefully you clicked through to the original article and found that another of our communities had even more dramatic savings, thanks to the positive findings at Ventana Lakes.
